What's the Difference Between an Aquapaint and a Water Repaint?

Good Question and I'm glad you asked!

Both items are designed as an engaging art activity for people in mid to late stages of living with dementia. They have been trialled on people in care in the United Kingdom before being distributed to us in Australia. The founder of the Aqua Paints sought solutions for activities for people experiencing dementia after noticing a gap in services when his grandfather was in care. He has trialled new ideas and products which are now being used by many countries. We have labelled them on the website as especially for Participants Living with Dementia or (P.L.W.D)

Both the Aquapaints and the Water Repaints work exactly the same. The participaint uses water and a paint brush to paint a blank image. A colourful image is sitting under a film which is designed to become transparent when mixed with water. The added benefit is the image dries back to a blank page. The page can be reused again for another repaint. The Aqua paint is unique because it has an outline of a drawing of the  actual image underneath. This allows the participant to paint within a structure, however it's not absolutely necessary. The Water Repaint doesn't have an outline and is simply a free style water painting on top of a photographic image. The preference is entirely yours and both will be suitable for your participants based on their capabilities. Structure versus freestyle is the main difference.

Aquapaints come in a pack of five tiles with various themes. (Located on the Website under Craft / Art)  A Water Repaint comes in a pack of six with one set of photographic images to choose from.

What's important is your resident can now use a tool which has an outcome of achievement. I myself found it enjoyable to paint when I did a trial. To see the detail in the images dry to a PERFECT PICTURE is pleasureable for amateur adult artists and will be for your residents alike.

Dying is For Everyone!

Sunday, 10 November 2019 12:19:03 pm Australia/Melbourne

We are all living our own epic life.

It will no doubt include a dramatic event, moments of happiness, a regret, mistakes, some doubts, and many many things INBETWEEN and finally our passing. It’s the IN BETWEEN where joy can be found.

If your feeling stressed, anxious or depressed today; it may be all engrossing; or it may be something you’re experiencing IN BETWEEN something else. When you want to shift out of these feelings it’s natural to look for a distraction or a fix.

I’m not aware of any one aged 1 month, 8, 16, 21, 35, 43, 50, 65, 82, 89, or 103 who doesn’t stop having this life pleasure / pain conundrum going back and forth; in fact the release from “something” is often what drives addiction.

We all want to distress from something its natural! So what do you love doing?

A walk or a run. (Exercise it lifts you)

Being with animals (Connection it comforts you)

Listening to Music. (It resonates with your emotions)

Catching up with a friend (Social contact cheers you or gives you another perspective)

Being in touch with nature (It's relaxing and calming)

Having some sort of fun, whatever that means to you. (It energises you)

Engaging a Hobby. (It identifies you as unique)

During these INBETWEEN pleasure moments hopefully you have forgotton you were hurting, powerless, not able to solve a problem, angry, sad or withdrawn. The feelings may still be there but during unmeasured increments you have come back to “life” and distracted yourself. Overtime these little progressive changes lead you back to your whole self.

Joy is the pathway to live streaming wellbeing.
